Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how we work, what is included in our website services, how payments work and the responsibilities of both Spinner Web Design and our customers.

Last updated: October 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to website design, development, redesign, transfer, hosting, maintenance and related services provided by 1st Intensive Driving Limited trading as Spinner Web Design ("Spinner", "we", "us" or "our").

By accepting our quotation or project confirmation and instructing us to proceed, you agree to these terms.

Any specific written quotation, scope or project confirmation we provide forms part of our agreement with you. If a specific written project term conflicts with these general terms, the specifically agreed project term will take priority for that project.

2. Our website services

Our standard website service is intended for sole traders and small businesses requiring a professional, straightforward website.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, our standard £295 website includes:

  • professional website design;
  • up to five core pages;
  • responsive design for desktop, tablet and mobile;
  • use of customer-supplied branding, logo, colours and appropriate images;
  • a contact or enquiry form;
  • appropriate social-media or contact links;
  • areas, services, reviews or gallery content where supplied and appropriate;
  • essential on-page search setup, including appropriate page titles, headings and related basic optimisation;
  • initial domain connection and technical setup where required and reasonably practicable; and
  • one reasonable revision round before launch.

The precise pages and functionality will be agreed before work begins.

3. Additional work

Work outside the agreed project scope is not included in the standard price.

Additional work may include:

  • additional pages or location pages;
  • substantial copywriting;
  • booking or appointment systems;
  • ecommerce or payment functionality;
  • additional or complex forms;
  • specialist integrations or functionality;
  • large galleries or portfolios;
  • major design changes after approval;
  • additional revision rounds;
  • complex website migrations; or
  • other work not included in the agreed scope.

Where additional charges apply, we will explain them and seek your agreement before carrying out the additional work.

4. Starting your project and payment

Unless otherwise agreed, our standard website price is £295.

An initial payment of £100 is required before we begin work. This payment forms part of the total website price; it is not an additional charge.

Standard £295 website

£100 initial payment to begin the project.

The remaining £195 can either be paid when the website is ready to launch or spread over the following two months at no extra cost.

We will not normally begin work until the project scope, price and initial payment have been confirmed.

5. Paying the remaining balance

For a standard £295 website, you may normally choose one of the following payment arrangements:

Option 1 — Balance at launch

After the £100 initial payment, the remaining £195 is payable when the website is ready to launch and before it is published.

Option 2 — Spread the balance

After the £100 initial payment:

  • £100 is due one month after the initial payment; and
  • £95 is due two months after the initial payment.

No interest or additional charge is added for using this payment option.

The payment dates are calculated from the date of the initial payment rather than the website launch date. Where we have agreed the spread-payment option, the website may go live before the remaining instalments have been completed.

6. Website redesigns and transfers

Website redesign and transfer services normally start from £245.

Existing websites vary considerably in size, condition, technology and complexity. We will therefore review the existing website before confirming the price and scope.

In some cases it may be more appropriate to rebuild a website on our preferred setup rather than technically transfer the existing installation. We will explain the proposed approach before work begins.

Complex migrations, specialist functionality, extensive content transfer or other additional work may incur an additional charge, which will be agreed in advance.

7. Information and content you provide

You are responsible for providing the information and materials reasonably required to complete your website. This may include:

  • business information;
  • prices and services;
  • contact details;
  • logos and branding;
  • photographs and other images;
  • reviews or testimonials;
  • social-media links; and
  • any other content agreed for the website.

You are responsible for checking that factual information supplied to us is accurate and current.

Delays in providing requested information, content, approvals or access may delay completion or launch of the project.

8. Rights to customer-supplied material

You confirm that you have the appropriate rights, licences, permissions and consents to provide and use any logos, photographs, text, reviews, testimonials or other material supplied to us.

You give us permission to use that material as reasonably necessary to design, build, publish, host and maintain your website.

We are not responsible for claims arising from material supplied by you where you did not have the appropriate rights or permission to use it.

9. Design, revisions and approval

Our standard website service includes one reasonable revision round before launch.

This is intended to allow reasonable adjustments to the initial website design and content. It does not include a complete redesign or substantial change to the agreed project after the website has been built.

Further revisions or substantial changes may be treated as additional work and quoted separately.

Before launch, you are responsible for reviewing the website and notifying us of any errors or reasonable amendments you require.

Your approval to launch confirms that you are satisfied with the website subject to any separately agreed outstanding work.

10. Timescales

Any completion or launch date we provide is an estimate unless we expressly agree in writing that a particular date is guaranteed.

Project timescales can depend on factors including the speed with which you provide content, feedback, approvals, domain access or other information.

We will make reasonable efforts to complete projects promptly but are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

11. Domains

Wherever reasonably practicable, we recommend that the customer owns or controls their own domain name.

We may assist with connecting, configuring or managing a domain as part of our service, but the registration and continued renewal of a customer-owned domain remains the customer's responsibility unless we specifically agree otherwise in writing.

Where we register or manage a domain on your behalf, any applicable registration or renewal arrangements will be explained separately.

12. Ownership and intellectual property

You continue to own the business content and branding you supplied to us, subject to any third-party rights that may apply.

Once the website project has been paid for in full, we grant you a perpetual licence to use the website design and original project materials created specifically for your website for the operation and promotion of your business.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, copyright in our original design work, code, layouts, reusable components, templates, processes and other materials created by us remains with Spinner Web Design.

Third-party software, plugins, fonts, images, themes and other licensed materials remain subject to the licence terms of their respective owners.

Your website remains usable for your business.

This clause is intended to protect both parties: your own business content remains yours, while our reusable design systems and development materials remain ours. Any different ownership arrangement must be agreed in writing.

13. Hosting & Care

Where you choose our Hosting & Care service, the current standard price is £12.50 per month, unless another price is agreed with you.

Hosting charges normally begin when your website goes live and are separate from the website design price.

Hosting & Care normally includes:

  • website hosting;
  • SSL certificate;
  • regular backups;
  • routine WordPress and plugin updates;
  • basic website security and technical maintenance;
  • general website health monitoring; and
  • up to four small content-update requests during each 12-month Hosting & Care period.

14. Small content updates

The four small content updates included with Hosting & Care are intended for minor changes to existing website content.

Examples include:

  • changing a price;
  • changing existing wording;
  • replacing an existing image; or
  • updating contact details.

An update request may contain a small number of closely related changes that can reasonably be completed together. We reserve the right to treat larger or unrelated requests as additional work.

Included updates do not cover new pages, substantial new sections, redesigns, new functionality, extensive content changes or other development work.

Unused content updates do not carry forward into the next 12-month Hosting & Care period.

15. Hosting availability and third-party services

We use third-party infrastructure, software and service providers to deliver parts of our website and hosting services.

Although we take reasonable steps to maintain website availability and security, we cannot guarantee that a website will be continuously available without interruption or that third-party services will never experience faults, outages or security incidents.

We are not responsible for failures caused by third-party providers or events outside our reasonable control, although where appropriate we will take reasonable steps to help resolve issues affecting services we manage.

16. Search engines and website performance

Where included, we provide essential on-page search setup intended to give the website a sound foundation for search engines.

We do not guarantee any particular Google or other search engine ranking, amount of website traffic, number of enquiries, sales or other commercial result.

Search engine rankings and business results depend on many factors outside our control, including competition, location, search-engine algorithms, the age and authority of the domain and ongoing marketing activity.

17. Cancellation and your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you have that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

If you are acting as a consumer and enter into a contract with us at a distance, you may have a statutory right to cancel the service contract within 14 days after the day the contract is entered into.

If you ask us to begin work during an applicable cancellation period, we will obtain your express request to do so.

If you then exercise a statutory cancellation right after work has begun but before the service has been fully performed, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the services supplied up to the point at which you tell us you are cancelling, where permitted by law.

Where the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following your express request and acknowledgement that the right to cancel will be lost once the service has been fully performed, the statutory right to cancel may end.

Different rules may apply where you are contracting with us wholly for business purposes rather than as a consumer.

18. Cancellation after work has started

Outside any applicable statutory cancellation rights, if you decide to cancel a project after we have started work, please tell us as soon as possible.

We may retain or charge a reasonable amount reflecting work actually carried out and legitimate costs incurred up to cancellation. We will not automatically treat every payment already made as non-refundable regardless of the work completed.

Where you have paid more than the amount properly due for work and costs incurred, any appropriate balance will be refunded.

19. Overdue payments

Payments must be made by the agreed due dates.

If a payment becomes overdue, we will normally contact you and provide a reasonable opportunity to bring the account up to date.

If an overdue amount remains unpaid after reasonable reminders, we may pause further work or support until the account is brought up to date.

Where an ongoing hosting account remains materially overdue, we may suspend hosting or ultimately terminate the service after giving reasonable notice, subject to applicable law and the terms of our agreement.

We will not add interest or instalment charges to the standard spread-payment option unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed and is lawful.

20. Ending Hosting & Care

You may ask to end our Hosting & Care service by contacting us.

Any fees already due up to the end of the service remain payable.

Where reasonably practicable, we will cooperate with a request to move a website or customer-owned domain to another provider. Additional work involved in a migration, transfer or technical handover may be chargeable, and any such charge will be explained in advance.

Third-party licences or services provided as part of our hosting environment may not be transferable and may need to be replaced by the customer or their new provider.

21. Our responsibility to you

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights and remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential business losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If you are contracting with us as a consumer, nothing in this section limits the statutory protections available to you under consumer law.

22. Portfolio use

Unless you ask us not to, we may identify a completed website as work created by Spinner Web Design and may use publicly available screenshots or links to the completed website in our portfolio, website or promotional material.

We will not use confidential information for promotional purposes.

If you would prefer your project not to be featured, simply tell us.

23. Privacy and personal information

Information about how we collect and use personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies is available in our Cookie Policy.

24. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Changes will not retrospectively alter the agreed terms of an existing project unless the change is required by law or we agree the change with you.

The current version will be published on this page.

25. Governing law

These terms and our contractual relationship are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you retain any rights you have regarding the courts in the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
